Beauty

Beauty at her new home in Petalumea, CA

Beauty's owner came to Hanaeleh to try to find a home for her 23 year-old Quarter Horse with severe arthritis on her front leg. Her owner was told that extensive riding would eventually destroy the tendon and compromise the leg, so she bought another horse, keeping Beauty in a paddock. Unfortunately, because of financial constraints, she wanted to find a place for Beauty to retire where she would be loved and cared for.

Hanaeleh contacted Kara, who had taken in Mr. Ed, and luckily she was willing to take in yet another horse! Hanaeleh took yet another 12-hour ride up to Petaluma and left Beauty in the very capable hands of Kara and her mother. While Hanaeleh's mission is not necessarily to find homes for people who just want to retire their horses, we were very happy to have found such wonderful people in Kara and Lori, as well as Kara's incredible parents, and we wish them the very best.

Kara and her family rescue PMU foals, many of them registered Quarter Horses, although there are Arabian and Draft horses as well. The majority of the PMU foals are registered and many of them have good blood lines. If you are interested in adopting a PMU foal, please e-mail: endslaughter@hanaeleh.com and we will forward your message onto Kara!

Elizabeth leads Beauty into a stall in Petaluma, after her long trailer ride from Orange County. After resting, Beauty was placed in a large pasture with the rest of the "cripples" and was allowed to wander around freely.
