Thousands of horses like Cleopatra are being recklessly slaughtered every year.  Horses are NOT cows, nor are they similar to any other type of livestock. From their very first day, many horses are imprinted and taught to trust humans.  For over 5,000 years mankind has bred this animal to be his loyal worker, and we cannot continue to repay this loyalty with the blunt end of a sledgehammer.  Horse slaughter must end in the United States NOW.

Cleopatra has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that these beautiful animals are not animals at the end of their lives; on the contrary, most haven't even truly begun theirs before it is cruelly snuffed out.  Cleo has taken ribbons in dressage courts, western arenas and competed in an endurance race.  Most horses are lucky if they can manage one discipline- Cleo has done well in all three!  If it were not through the efforts of multiple rescue organizations, many incredible horses such as Cleo would be dead right now.  Instead, they are accomplishing as much or more than those horses who had never seen an auction, never been dumped at a feedlot.  Their accomplishments are their voice.  Please listen to them and stop this horrible practice.
